Pore Fillers

Pore Filling and Sealing

Once the Stonex Quartz Screed floor has been laid and sufficiently cured (normally around 24 hours), the surface has to be pore filled with another epoxy substance, know as a thixotropic epoxy. This epoxy is forced into the surface filling all the microscopic pores that exist, making it a non porous surface. Normally two coats are applied to fill all the pores.

Once this has all cured, a final matt seal coat is normally applied. At this stage, an additive can be made to improve the non slip qualities of the surface, especially important in wet environments such as changing rooms.
