Comfort floors or cushioned floors are seamless resin floors made up of layers of polyurethane and installed directly onto a primed substrata, rubber mat underlay or a poured cork (depending on the manufacturer). The underlay gives the floor some added elasticity, added cushioning and noise reduction. They are popular  in both the domestic and commercial environments. They are extremely hygienic, and very easy to clean given the smooth finish. There are a number of products on the market from many of the large flooring manufacturers.

Characteristics and Benefits; Seamless, easy to clean, hygienic,

Typical uses; Any internal space where you require a clean, clinical looking floor

As with all flooring systems, the condition of the sub strata is most important. The first stage of the process is to prepare the sub base, ensuring that it is smooth and free of dust and sealing the surface with a suitable epoxy primer.

A rubber matt (Comfort Floor Pro) or a cork matt is adhered or poured onto the surface to give that little bit of cushion. A pore filler is applied to the cushioned surface. Once the cushioning sub strata this has cured, a polyurethane base coat is applied to the surface, before installing the final polyurethane finishing coat.

These floors are sometimes referred to as liquid vinyl.
