Product: Stonex Quartz Screed
Project Background
As part of the swimming pool refurbishment project, we installed 120m² of flooring with 69lm of coving. The project included the indoor swimming pool surround, jacuzzi platform, steps and risers, walkthrough shower entrances and the wet side of male and female changing areas.
The Process
Quartz Screed is a fine blend of coloured quartz, combined with a chemical resistant epoxy binder. It is a great option in wet leisure environments.
This system is hand trowelled at a depth of 6mm and then finished with two epoxy grout coats, and in this instance a final sealer coat with a non-slip polymer for a finish with greater slip resistance. This makes it a great system to install in areas with unusual shapes and curves.
The client chose a custom colour blend called Catalonia. Around the jacuzzi, our skilled team installed the steps and floor area in Catalonia colour blend, with the step nosing’s installed in the Slate colour blend to enhance safety by maximising visibility. Trims were installed between colours and for step edging.
The Result
The area now has a non-porous, non-slip floor. Our installation ensures the indoor pool will have a clean, safe, slip resistant steps for many years to come.
