Project Background
An office refurbishment required an updated floor. The client needed a highly durable and decorative finish, so chose MMA Flake in the Comet colour blend for the 45m2 installation.
The Process
In order to install the UV stable MMA flake flooring system, the base was prepared by grinding with a vacuum assisted diamond grinding tool, ready for the three stage installation:
- Stage One: a primer coat layer of methyl methacrylate (MMA).
- Stage Two: A bodycoat of MMA resin is installed, onto which coloured flakes are broadcast.
- Stage three: One or two protection sealer coats of MMA finish the process.
It is a fast curing system, so suitable for environments with minimal downtime available.
The Outcome
The resulting floor offers seamless, aesthetic appeal with industrial strength. A versatile system perfect for commercial and industrial spaces. MMA Flake has high resistance, once cured and is designed to resist abrasion, mechanical wear and impact. It can also resist thermal extremes and chemicals too.
The decorative finish can be tailored to the needs of the client. The flake broadcast gives a speckled or mosaic appearance, and the colour-flake blends can be tailored to match branding, décor or functional zoning.
