PU Screed

PU or Polyurethane screeds are designed to withstand harsh commercial or industrial environments. Installed by hand troweling and generally at a depth of 6-9mm. Common uses include food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

PU Screed is specifically formulated to give excellent resistance to chemical loads or temperature variation.  Normally applied to a concrete slab, we recommend preparation work should include

  • Grinding the existing surface using diamond tooling to aid mechanical bond
  • Basing out and infilling with epoxy mortar, if required
  • Prime with a suitable primer to aid chemical bond
  • Cut perimeter channels to create an anchorage point, to aid mechanical bond and effectively stop it curling at the edge when curing
  • Installing scratch coat with broadcast of 0.8-1.2mm over all areas

Installation of topcoats is then undertaken.  We offer this system in a range of colours.
