PU or Polyurethane screeds are designed to withstand harsh commercial or industrial environments. Installed by hand troweling and generally at a depth of 6-9mm. Common uses include food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

PU screed installation and preparation

PU Screed is specifically formulated to give excellent resistance to chemical loads or temperature variation. Normally applied to a concrete slab, we recommend preparation work should include

Grinding the existing surface using diamond tooling to aid mechanical bond
Basing out and infilling with epoxy mortar, if required
Prime with a suitable primer to aid chemical bond
Cut perimeter channels to create an anchorage point, to aid mechanical bond and effectively stop it curling at the edge when curing
Installing scratch coat with broadcast of 0.8-1.2mm over all areas

Installation of topcoats is then undertaken. We offer this system in a range of colours.
