    FAQs

At Flex Surfaces and Floors we install resin kitchen flooring because it’s seamless, hygienic and extremely easy to clean. The non-porous surface prevents dirt and bacteria from settling, making resin kitchen flooring a modern and practical choice for busy kitchens and open-plan living spaces.

Yes. An epoxy kitchen floor is one type of resin flooring and works well in domestic kitchens thanks to its durability and resistance to spills and daily wear. In some homes we may recommend a polyurethane (PU) resin system instead, depending on the layout and temperature changes in the space, but an epoxy kitchen floor remains a reliable option for many properties.

With correct preparation and high-quality materials, our resin kitchen floors last for many years. They resist scratches, stains and heat, providing a long-term alternative to tiles or sheet flooring.

Resin flooring is seamless, slip-resistant and easier to maintain than tiles because there are no grout lines. It’s also warmer underfoot and can be installed in any kitchen layout, including curved or awkward areas where tiles can be difficult to fit.

In many cases, yes,  as long as the tiles are stable, level and properly bonded with no hollow spots. Our team inspects the existing surface during the survey and advises whether overlaying or a new base is the best option for installing an epoxy kitchen floor.

We offer a wide range of finishes, including solid colours, contemporary tones, decorative flake systems and polished resin. This allows you to match resin kitchen flooring to your kitchen units, splashbacks and overall interior style.

Yes. Resin floors are non-porous, so spills and stains stay on the surface and wipe away easily. Most kitchens only need a regular sweep and a light mop to keep the floor looking fresh.

Yes. We can install resin flooring with built-in slip resistance to improve safety in areas where spills are common, making it a strong choice for family kitchens.

Most domestic resin kitchen flooring projects take between one and three days depending on preparation work. Once cured, the floor can be used quickly with minimal disruption to your home.

We have over a decade of experience installing resin surfaces throughout the UK. Our team manages every stage of the process, from base preparation to final finishing, ensuring a durable, attractive kitchen floor that’s built to last.
