External surfaces are best installed on porous asphalt, normally a minimum of 60mm AC open surf asphalt with a maximum pen value of 100/150. RBS can also be installed on a concrete base, but it is recommended that the concrete drains well .

Internal surface can be installed onto screed or concrete.
