Our Stonex resin bound driveways and flooring is a great alternative to traditional block paving. This is because while we ideally install it on top of 14mm DBM, we are also able to install it on structural sub bases like concrete. Our stonex material also deters weed growth, and is available in many different aggregate blends. The most usual aggregate blend is installed at 15mm.

We offer Sustainable Urban drainage systems (SUDS) to ensure that your moisture and water runoff is deemed acceptable and safe. This naturally means that water will substrate after draining through the surface, allowing long-term durability, working with, rather than solely withstanding the elements.

What’s The Difference Between Resin Bound And Resin Bonded?

It’s important to understand the difference between these two externally-applied resin surfacing systems. Remember this simple adage – Resin Bound is permeable, Resin Bonded is imperpeable.

Resin Bound surfacing consists of quartz and clear resin. This material is trowelled onto a sub base that has already been made stable. The stone sizes can be anywhere up to 12mm, and every single particle is completely encased in resin. This offers a smoother finish.

Resin Bonded surfacing, on the other hand, is composed of a dry aggregate. This is cast onto a resin base. After sweeping off the excess of the product, you are left with a rougher, impermeable surface, which offers potentially loose stone sizes up to 6mm.
