Resin bound gravel is a surface finish where aggregate is mixed with a resin before being trowelled into place.

Once mixed and trowelled into place, the surface will cure hard within 24 hours, depending on ambient temperature. For a driveway, which is subject to vehicular traffic, the mix is normally laid at between 15 and 20mm.

Resin bound gravel would normally be installed on a porous asphalt which allows excess water to drain through the surface and back into the water table. As such these installations aree environmentally friendly and recommended and in accordance with the Environment Agency’s Sustainable Urban Drainage requirements.

Many different looks can be achieved by changing the size and colour of the aggregate , and additives are available to improve the non slip qualities of the surface .
